Holy Henbit, I had no idea today was Weed Appreciation Day!
Thanks to high school chum Ivan for enlightening me through his Facebook status. Odd fate thing has my knees “soiled” as I’ve been photographing Spring in Texas the past week or so, and today I was hunched over and 4″ from a dandelion (prior to knowing it was such a celebratory garden holiday).
So a quick and non-thorough search found not that not only was today (3/28) Weed Appreciation Day indeed, but there is a “Legend of the Dandelion” for us all to learn and teach our next generation of lawn mowers and weed whackers!
And then – I never knew of such – there is natural bling that you can make and proudly wear around…the garden I guess.

Whether it is dandelions or henbit or any other undesirable, I hope no one sprayed or spread weed killer today….
